The 9th International Eskişehir Cartoon Festival, which is expected by cartoon enthusiasts, has begun in Eskişehir, the city of festivals. This year’s theme of the festival, which was opened in Atatürk Culture and Congress Center and organized jointly by the Metropolitan Municipality and Aktiffelsefe Culture Association, was ‘World Heritage’.
The 9th International Eskişehir Cartoon Festival started with the intense participation of cartoon enthusiasts. 255 cartoonists from 55 different countries participated in the festival, which was organized in partnership with Metropolitan Municipality and Aktiffelsefe, in order to raise awareness about the protection and protection of the World Heritage.
Ömer Faruk Günay, Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality, Abdülkadir Adar, Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality, Oya Uysal, Aktiffesefe President, cartoonists and many art lovers attended the opening. Aktiffelsef Culture Association Chairman Oya Uysal all the pieces exhibited in Turkey and stated that the work to be published in the world. Uysal said: “Our aim is to draw attention to the world heritage and its destruction with natural disasters and wars. We cooperate with ICORP, one of UNESCO’s committees in this regard. Then these cartoons will be exhibited both in the world and in our country. ” said.
A panel took place after the opening of the exhibition. In the panel, along with famous cartoonists such as Tan Oral, İzel Rozental and Willem Rasing, Assoc. Dr. Zeynep Gül Ünal, Assoc. Dr. Nevra Ertürk and Umut Dinçşahin also talked with art lovers on caricatures.
The exhibition will be on display at Atatürk Culture, Art and Congress Center until December 11.
